The Nagoya GPK-01 NMO Ground Plane Mount Kit is a premium ground plane solution engineered to provide an easy mount for field or base station antenna deployments. Designed to pair seamlessly with NMO HF, VHF, and UHF antennas, such as the dual-band NMO-72 or tri-band TB-320A, this kit establishes a proper ground plane that optimizes SWR performance and overall signal propagation for mobile and base transceivers. By isolating and stabilizing the antenna’s grounding environment, it allows operators to establish a high-performing communication hub in remote, temporary, or permanent locations.

Constructed for demanding field use, the mounting hardware is built to withstand environmental stress, offering a wind load rating of 100 MPH (48 m/sec). The kit installs easily on any 2-inch pole, pipe, or stake using the included base bracket, mounting bracket, and clamps, making it highly adaptable for diverse field setups. While the antenna itself is not included, the mount features an NMO connection converting to an SO-239 connector, requiring standard 50-ohm low-loss coaxial cabling with PL-259 terminations on both ends to connect directly to mobile transceivers like the BTECH UV-50X2.

The kit features an all-metal bracket system designed to mount securely to any standard 2-inch pole, mast, or stake with the provided heavy-duty mounting clamps. Its robust construction ensures reliable survivability under high winds, carrying a certified wind load rating of 100 MPH (48 m/sec). The ground plane itself is formed by four physical radials, each divided into two sections, which assemble to a precise length of 20.5 inches to provide structural rigidity and optimal ground reflection.

IMPROVES TRANSMISSION QUALITY

The GPK-01 plays a critical role in overall transmission quality by providing a proper RF ground plane that directly lowers SWR and reduces transmission loss. With a maximum power rating of 200W, the kit easily handles high-power transmissions from mobile or base stations without signal degradation. The NMO mount to SO-239 connector transition is engineered for minimal insertion loss, ensuring that the maximum possible transmit power reaches the antenna from the coaxial feedline.

SUPPORTS MULTIPLE ANTENNA TYPES

This mount provides complete configuration flexibility, allowing operators to use any NMO-style HF, VHF, or UHF antenna. This includes dual-band antennas like the Nagoya NMO-72 or tri-band options like the TB-320A, enabling GMRS, amateur radio, or commercial band operations. For deployment, the system requires a standard coaxial cable (not included) to connect the mount to a radio. For transceivers such as the BTECH UV-50X2, a 50-ohm low-loss coaxial cable with PL-259 terminations on both ends is recommended for optimal connectivity.
